Job Description:

Vision Telecom is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to protect our nationwide fiber, IP and voice network, our data center and hosting platforms, and our customers’ services. You will lead our security operations — from vulnerability management and penetration testing to incident response — and help us meet regulatory requirements, including PTA’s Critical Telecom Data and Infrastructure Security Regulations (CTDISR).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead security operations for Vision Telecom’s network, data center and hosting platforms, in line with industry best practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement information security policies, standards and procedures across the company.
  • Run periodic risk assessments, vulnerability scans and internal and external penetration tests, and track remediation and patching.
  • Protect the network and customer services against threats such as DDoS attacks, intrusion attempts and VoIP fraud.
  • Manage and tune our SIEM and security monitoring tools so incidents are detected and contained quickly.
  • Lead incident response and forensic investigations, and share lessons learned.
  • Ensure compliance with PTA’s CTDISR and other applicable security standards.
  • Run security awareness programs and assess the training needs of technical teams.
  • Review new projects and services, recommending security controls from the design stage.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on security initiatives, risks and test results.

Requirements:

  • Professional and strong experience deploying and running various penetration testing tools including Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nessus, Nmap, Kali Linux, Wireshark, Hydra to mention a few. As well as SAST, DAST, SCA scan tooling and reporting.
  • Experience with cyber threat intelligence, security research, security operations, and/or incident response
  • Security certifications CEH, GIAC, CISSP, CCSP and software application development experience a big plus
  • Knowledge of security and privacy frameworks such as SOC 2, GDPR and CCPA
  • Solid understanding of the OSI model and the TCP/IP protocol stack; experience securing ISP or telecom networks is a strong advantage
  • Working knowledge of industry standards such as NIST and CIS
  • Strong understanding of the OWASP and SANS models related to application threats and vulnerabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A forensic approach to incidents and investigations including relevant tools and procedures
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Self-starter and driven to get the job done
  • Demonstrated effective organizational and technical skills
  • Critical thinking skills, problem-solving aptitude
  • Desire to self-educate on the ever-changing landscape of cyber hacking tactics
